Jun Kanno was born in Japan. After his studies at the Toho School of Music in Tokyo he was invited by Olivier Messiaen and his wife Yvonne Loriod to France, where he studied at the Conservatoire National de Paris and at Ecole Normale.
He was subsequently appointed as Germaine Mounier´s assisant and completed his studies with Vlado Perlemuter and Gyorgy Sebok. As a soloist and chamber musician, he performs regularly in the principal musical cities such as London, Rome, Geneva, Salzburg, Brussels, Barcelona and Tokyo. Jun Kanno taught 11 years at the Juan Pedro Carrera Music Academy in Barcelona/Spain. His pedagogical skills are highly appreciated by prestigious institutions such as Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, The Royal Conservatory Brussels, the Hartford University and the Toho Music School in Tokyo, where he often is invited to lead master classes. His recordings released in France, Switzerland and Japan, include works from Bach to Messiaen.
Jun Kanno is part of the PIANALE Professor Team since 2013.
